THE BAND THAT TIME FORGOT

Musical Drama by Rod Fisher -- 42 pages, 90 minutes Price $85.00
When pressure from his Mafia investors spooks his rock band in the middle of a concert tour, Eric finds himself without musicians to complete his obligations. His girlfriend finds him a group, but they are middle-age wrong! With his agent and investors bearing down, Eric does a musical metamorphosis on the group and disguises their age in Kiss-like dragon costumes. The plot peaks at a mass rock concert/Laser show. There is a power blackout in the middle of the concert and the fans get nasty. With candles and acoustic instruments "Smaug", as the band is called, carries on, introducing jazz to a new generation. But now the agent and the Mafia know there is something fishy going on. The future of Eric's music and his romance are on red alert, but tricky maneuvering resolves the plot.
PRODUCTION HINTS: This script was written for the production of a road-show movie that would combine film with in-theater laser effects during the concert segment. The premise is fascinating and gives some great acting parts for middle-aged men. The producer or director should have an extensive knowledge of both acid rock and jazz. Costuming for "Smaug" could be relatively expensive.
